- • A Basic Sprinkler waters the 4 orthogonally adjacent tiles (a plus shape), so it has no clean square lattice — the presets start at Quality.
- • A Scarecrow protects 248 tiles around itself — 8 tiles straight out, 6 diagonally. A Deluxe Scarecrow uses the same shape at radius 16 and protects 888 tiles, which is usually one scarecrow for a whole field.
- • Plan the sprinkler lattice first and fit paths and scarecrows into the leftover tiles — moving sprinklers later means re-tilling the ground under them.
